Flowy projects use exactly three roles: Owner, Editor, and Viewer. Each role sets what a person can do inside a project, from full control to view-only.

What each role can do

Here is how the three roles compare.
RoleWhat it can do
OwnerFull control, including deleting the project and managing access.
EditorCreate and edit nodes and the canvas, and generate.
ViewerView-only, and can request access.

Viewers cannot edit the canvas or generate anything until they are granted access. They can still open the project and request access.

How access is granted

A Viewer never gets edit access on their own. An Owner always makes the call.
An Owner grants access in one of two ways. The Owner can invite people directly and pick their role, or the Owner can approve an access request that a Viewer has sent. Either way, the new permission takes effect as soon as the Owner confirms it.
Want to hand out access or pull a team together? See Sharing for the request-and-approve flow, and Workspaces for inviting members.
