# Notifications

> The notification inbox: invites, access requests, comments, and activity, all in one place.

Flowy notifies you when something needs your attention or interests you: a workspace or project invite, an access request, a comment or mention, activity on something you published, or a product update. Open the inbox from the bell icon in the top bar.

## What generates a notification

* **Invites & access**: workspace and project invites, join requests, access-request updates, invite responses, ownership transfers, and removals.
* **Comments & mentions**: comments and @mentions on your projects and assets.
* **Community**: comments, likes, and remixes on things you've published, plus moderation actions.
* **From Flowy**: product updates.

Which of these reach you, and through which channel (in-app, email, or push) is controlled from [Settings → Notifications](/settings/notifications).

## The inbox panel

The panel has three tabs: **All**, **Requests** (invites and access requests still waiting on you), and **Unread**. Unread notifications show a dot; **Mark all as read** clears them in one action.

Clicking an unread card marks it read without navigating anywhere first. A second click then follows it to whatever it's about, so you can triage a batch of notifications without leaving the panel each time.

## Invites and access requests

A pending invite or access request shows **Accept** and **Decline** buttons directly on its card. These stay separate, first-class cards. They're never folded into a stack, since a decision addressed to you shouldn't be easy to miss.

## Threads

Related notifications on the same subject collapse into a single stacked card: for example, several likes or comments on the same project, or everyone who followed you. The stack shows the most recent actors and a count; tap it to expand and see every notification in it. Expanding never bulk-resolves anything: a stack of pending access requests still has to be accepted or declined one row at a time.

## Live updates

New notifications arrive in real time over a persistent connection, so the panel and the unread badge update without a refresh. A genuinely new notification arriving while a tab is open also shows a brief toast with a sound, both of which you can turn off from [Preferences](/settings/preferences).

## Browser push

Turn on push to get notifications on your device even when Flowy isn't open. A small prompt offers this proactively, or you can turn it on anytime from [Settings → Notifications](/settings/notifications).

## Deep links

Clicking a notification takes you straight to what it's about (the project, the comment thread, or the community post) rather than only opening the dashboard.
